Mr. John P Hocker

John focuses on securing high-quality patents, including software technologies related to cybersecurity, A.I., machine learning, cloud computing, IoT, authentication, signal processing, and blockchain, among others. He has more than 14 years of combined law firm and USPTO experience in software patent preparation and prosecution. As a USPTO Patent Examiner (6+ years), John examined, and granted hundreds of software patent applications covering a variety of technologies related to natural language processing (NLP), biometrics, legacy integration, data audits, SQL, network transmission protocols, image processing, heuristic and semantic analysis, de-duplication, data migration, and database queries. Prior to joining private practice, John also served as a Judicial Intern for the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). Earlier in his career, John gained valuable industry experience working in systems administration.
