Dr. Lance Hayden PhD

Dr. Lance Hayden has over thirty years of information security and privacy experience across sectors and industries. He has held CISO and Chief Privacy Officer roles, and is currently the Chief Information Security Strategist for Vericast, where he is responsible for implementing innovative approaches to address cyber security, privacy, compliance, and data governance. As part of Vericast's Incident Response Team, Dr. Hayden is responsible for advising Executive Leadership and the Board on their legal and corporate responsibilities for managing incidents including ransomware attacks. Dr. Hayden's research and writing over his career includes books, contributed chapters, journal articles, and conference presentations. He lives and works in Austin, where he holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Texas School of Information.
