Have you ever wondered about the (ISC)2 Ethics Committee and ethics cases? Would you be surprised that the adjudication of ethics cases has included such benign crimes as shoplifing an Advil bottle to rape, bomb-making, arson and homicide? While not as gripping a tale as TV's Forensic Files or COPS, some of the issues the Ethics Committee grapples with are quite difficult cases, and represent the entire space of criminal justice. Members of the (ISC)2 Ethics Committee will present realistic case studies, with attendees acting as a stand-in for the Ethics Committee to evaluate evidence and adjudicate a case. Together we will arrive at a better understanding of how ethics fundamentally frames the foundational aspects of our service to society.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the basic operations of the (ISC)2 Ethics Committee and how cases are processed and adjudicated.
Better define the Canon of Ethics of the (ISC)2 and their relevancy to everyday activities of our profession.
Define and describe how ethics acts as a foundational element of an information security professional.
