Uma Chandrashekhar

Uma Chandrashekhar leads Global Product Security at Alcon. Prior to joining to Alcon, she led Global Information Security at Edwards Lifesciences and was Vice President of the Security, Reliability, Eco-Environmental Group at Bell Labs. Her focus includes strategic leadership and oversight of the global product security program from product concept to end-of-life to drive regulatory and commercial success.

Uma has represented the U.S. delegation in the ISO 27000 Information Security Standards Series and served as co-editor for the ISO/IEC 27003 and the ITU standards. She was the guest editor for Bell Labs Technical Journal special issue on security, a council member of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission’s Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC), and past board member of The Journal of Law and Forensics. She holds several patents in information security, privacy, and reliability. Uma is a Distinguished Fellow of the Ponemon Institute and is CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, PMP certified.
