Thomas Harvey CISSP
CISO, Santander UK
Thomas Harvey joined Santander UK as the new CISO in September 2022. Thomas joined from the Santander Group where he spent five years building Global Cyber Services as part of the Cyber Transformation Plan to deliver cyber capability across Santander Group. During his career he has had extensive experience in leading high impact global cyber incidents.
Thomas started his career at the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), working in both offensive and defensive cyber functions intended to mitigate attacks from advanced cyber adversaries. He is experienced in crisis management and counterterrorism, having spent four years in Afghanistan supporting UK military campaigns. He has also worked at BP, leading the global functions of security testing and cyber response.
Thomas holds qualifications in CISO Leadership, Intelligence & Security MSc, and International Relations MA. He is a board member of the Cyber Defence Alliance and the UK Government Cyber Advisory Board.
Reporting to the UK Head of Technology & Operations (T&O), the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for the definition, evolution and execution of the cyber security programme and cyber defences in Santander UK.
