Mr. Shannon Brewster CISSP

Shannon Brewster, CISSP, has substantial experience safeguarding critical national infrastructure, including a specialized focus on election security. His collaborations extend to federal, state, and local governments as well as global enterprises. Previously, he served as Executive Director and General Manager of AT&T's cybersecurity consulting and services unit where he led a global team of cyber professionals working across all the major domains of Information Security.
Shannon’s expertise has been essential in helping institutions develop robust cyber programs from the ground up, designing secure and resilient systems, establishing and sustaining continuous monitoring services, engineering for security transformations, vulnerability management, threat hunting and incident response.
Shannon has extensive board and leadership experience. He was a founding board member of ISC2 Los Angeles Chapter and served as their Treasurer and President. He served as the Chief Operating Officer on the national board of one of AT&T’s largest employee resource groups, championing diversity and chairman initiatives, as well as on the Alumni Leadership Board of Champlain College. Shannon has received numerous awards; including recognition as a Top Security Leader of 2024 by Security Magazine, a distinguished Career Achievement Award from Champlain College, a visionary leader award from AT&T, and a recipient of AT&T’s exclusive Diamond Club for his work building the elections security program for the largest voting jurisdiction in the United States.
He has spoken at many conferences such as the Legislative conference of the National Association of Counties (NACO) and regional summits such as Digital Government, and more. In addition to various security certifications and certificates, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, a Master of Business Administration from Champlain College in Burlington, VT, and a corporate governance certificate from Cornell University. He is currently finishing an Executive Leadership Certificate at the University of Texas at Austin and the NACD certification for directors. Shannon is an Adjunct Professor for Wilmington University’s College of Technology, teaching for both the graduate and undergraduate cyber programs. He resides in the Los Angeles, California area with his wife and two children and enjoys coaching, mentoring, and trekking outdoors all over the world.
