James has circa 20 years of extensive experience in the cybersecurity and information security industry including executive management of cybersecurity operations, strategy, and architecture services with significant management consulting experience within the cybersecurity risk, and ICT governance fields. James’ demonstrated experience extends across large and complex businesses within the Defence, resources, financial, retail, and governments sectors. James previously has been a Chief Information Security Officer and his industry experience has included assisting a large Australian Federal Government Department improve its ICT governance practices that empowered the CIO better plan, measure, and report on strategic technology goals. James has also worked with Australia’s largest resources sector enterprise to develop comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, architectures that operationalised their cyber program to deliver planned outcomes and benefits aligned to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. James holds a Master of Information Technology from the Queensland University of Technology. In 2004 he was awarded an Australian Queen’s Birthday Honour in recognition of his leadership and achievements in delivering successful outcomes for the Department of Defence within ICT operations and management.
