Jack Hobaugh combines 18 years of global software, database and network engineering experience in his practice of cybersecurity, cybersecurity law, privacy law and AI governance. Jack is a co-author of four books on cybersecurity law. Prior to Brownstein, Jack served as senior corporate counsel -- privacy and security, data protection officer in SaaS ed tech, covering all areas of privacy and cybersecurity law and compliance and was a member of the incident response team. Jack successfully negotiated hundreds of data protection agreements (DPA) with customers and vendors. Jack earned a JD, an MS in computer science, an LLM in intellectual property law, and an LLM in taxation. Jack is also a patent attorney and served as a patent examiner for the USPTO.
