Chase Fopiano is the Executive Director of the National Privacy Council, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing privacy advocacy, AI governance, and data protection across public and private sectors. With 20 years of law enforcement experience and deep expertise in cybersecurity and digital investigations, Chase brings a rare practitioner-first perspective to the AI governance conversation. He also serves as Chief Trust Officer at GovTrust AI, where he works directly with government agencies on responsible AI adoption, and teaches cybersecurity as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M under a DHS FEMA grant program. Chase’s work sits at the intersection of law enforcement, cybersecurity, and emerging AI, giving him a ground-level view of privacy and governance risks that most experts only discuss in theory.
