Andrea Simpson has 25 years of experience advising senior leaders and boards on enterprise risk, governance, and secure scale across federal, higher education, and global environments. She has led organizations through major incidents, including SolarWinds and Log4j, and specializes in translating complex cyber risk into executive and board-level decisions. Andrea is the founder of SWB Simply Secure, a security consulting practice focused on AI governance, third-party risk, and executive advisory services.
Her prior experience includes serving as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), leading cybersecurity strategy and establishing audit-ready governance models supporting product growth and customer trust, as well as serving as CISO for the Federal Communications Commission and Howard University. She holds a CISSP and a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University.
